![]() Barb Goldworm has over 30 years experience in the computer industry in systems , software and storage, in various senior management, technical, marketing, and industry analyst positions with IBM, StorageTek, Novell, Enterprise Management Associates and other successful startup ventures. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences worldwide, recently chaired the Server Blade Summit conference on blades and virtualization, was the creator and chair of Interop’s Network Storage Track and was one of the top 3 ranked analyst/knowledge expert speakers at SNW. She has been the keynote speaker at multiple Virtualization Summits for both commercial and government markets, and has been a featured expert speaker for TechTarget and Ziff-Davis on virtualization, blades, high availability and disaster recovery and other storage topics. Barb has published extensively, writing regular expert columns for Tech Target SearchServerVirtualization, SearchITChannel, NetworkWorld, ComputerWorld and Storage Networking World Online, as well as numerous business and technical white papers and articles on virtualization, blades, storage, storage networking and storage management. She has just released a book entitled “Blade Servers and Virtualization: Transforming Enterprise Computing While Cutting Costs, published by Wiley, and co-authored by Anne Skamarock, Advisory Analyst at Focus. Barb also has extensive experience in market research, competitive analysis, partner programs, product management, product marketing and sales, holding numerous marketing roles throughout her career, up through VP of Marketing. In addition to research, analysis and consulting for the vendor and user communities, Barb also consults to the institutional investment community. Barb comes from a strong technical background and started her career with virtualization with IBM’s VM/370, spending many years at a variety of companies working on mainframe, PC and server software. Her technical roles have included software developer, systems architect, systems engineer, up through Director of software engineering. Barb brings a unique blend of marketing and technical depth, both strategic and tactical, leveraging her experience in marketing and sales, product management, analyst and press relations, software development, systems engineering, project management and technical education. |
